We are in the Arbitration process for the Grievances of the Parties for Telework and Remote Work, and we are conducting the arbitrations “on the papers.” What this means is that there is not a hearing, but we are exchanging written briefs with declarations to the arbitrators on a 2-week turnaround.
Our contract requests that arbitrators issue their decision within 30 days of the last brief, but note that arbitrators are not bound by our contract. These are being argued before two separate arbitrators, so the schedules should not impact each other. And although these schedules may seem long, importantly we do not expect that these schedules will be any more extended because they are on the papers.
